Bio
Jon Ruhl had quite the background before dedicating himself to a career in music. He first picked up the guitar while growing up in Como, Mississippi. At the age of 17 he left Mississippi to join the US Navy. During his 5 years in the Navy, he served as a front line Corpsman, or medic, with the Marine Corps infantry in Afghanistan, then became an offshore commercial diver in the Gulf of Mexico. While living and working out of his van, Jon traveled from California to Fort Worth to record his debut album at the celebrated Niles City Sound studio, with legendary performer and producer Robert Ellis. Jon's music is highly lyrical, drawing on his wide array of influences and experiences to blend blues, country, folk, and heartland rock into music that is easily consumed, but not easily labeled. If you ask him what kind of music he plays, he'll most likely laugh and tell you
"I don't know, just listen to the words."
